Views and Visions: Prints of the American West, 1820-1970 (Arts)
Location: Amon Carter Museum
Experience the intrigue and fascination of the early American West in a special exhibition of nineteenth and twentieth century prints and illustrated books from the Carter’s permanent collection. Views and Visions: Prints of the American West, 1820–1970 features works by American artists who depicted the grand landscapes, wild animals, and rugged individuals of the West.Admission is free.

The Texas Pottery & Sculpture Guild’s 22nd Annual “Holiday Sale,” in Fort Worth on November 6th, 5-9 PM, and November 7th, 10 AM-4 PM, at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center, 1300 Gendy Street. Free admission.Participating will be artists from North Texas, featuring functional and decorative artwork. Included in the activities will be a silent auction benefiting TPSG and the Emergency Artists Support League (EASL). There also will be the raffling of a distinctive mosaic vase. 4th Annual Dallas-Ft. Worth Brain Tumor Walk (Fundraiser)

On Target for a Cure (Charity Event)

On Target for A Cure, Sporting Clays Tournament benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society kicks off its fourth year on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 9am at Elm Fork Shotgun Sports - 10751 Luna Road, Dallas, Texas 75220. Armed with a cause, On Target for a Cure includes a day of shooting with a lunch and on-site silent auction at Elm Fork Shotgun Sports. Corporate teams, father/son teams and friends come together for a day of clay shooting, camaraderie and a competitive spirit for a cure. Individual shooters are $150 and event sponsorship begins at $800 and includes shooting fees for a four-person team, lunch, t-shirt, ammunition as well as recognition. National Brain Tumor Society 5k Walk (Fundraiser)

Help fight brain tumors at the 4th Annual DFW Brain Tumor 5k walk/fun run will take place Saturday, Nov. 7, at Trinity Park in Ft. Worth. Registration 8-9 a.m. Short program at 9 followed by the walk. Fun activities for kids! $15 for ages 6-17, $25 for ages 18+. Proceeds benefit brain tumor research and care for patients.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Ft. Worth and it's young professionals philanthropic auxiliary, The Panther Club, will host the 2nd Annual 5K Race. The race will be on November 7 at 9 a.m. at Ft. Worth's Trinity Park. All ages are welcome, and participants may bring strollers and leashed dogs. There will be additional activities at the park for everyone to enjoy. City of Lewisville Baby Boomers & More Expo (EXPO)

The City of Lewisville Baby Boomers & More Expo will be held on Saturday November 7th from 10am to 1pm. This free expo will be held at Herring Recreation Center (across from the Library and Post Office) in Lewisville. The event is presented by Autumn Leaves and is open to anyone born prior to 1964.The Expo will feature free seminars on going green, long term care, emergency preparedness, and stress management. It will also feature fitness demonstrations and concert by Baby Boomer Marty Prue. There will also be business vendors in fields of affordable housing, insurance, medical equipment, volunteering, part time jobs, financial advice and much more. The Baby Boomer expo will also feature drawings of gift cards from Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowes. Each gift card is $200. You can register for the drawings on the day of the expo.
